Catbox has constant bandwidth problems, those sites full of images hosted there, usually half of them doesn't load for me and I have to reload them individually or keep reloading the page until they all decide to load, also Catbox is known for purging images...
like, you have a fully reliable 1GB storage to use right where you are hosting your .html files, but instead use a completely unrelated and not as reliable service?
yeah i don't get hosting images either. video and audio? sure. but yeah catbox is a piece of crap. i feel like a broken record but i use file.garden for hosting video and audio and it works just fine.
I use catbox when I just want to send someone an image quickly, and I actually use their litterbox because the image has no use after
filegarden inconvenience is having to create an acc :P (but I'm hosting a few videos there now after you suggested it @brachy... whenever I decide to be a nc supporter again I'm uploading them here though)
yeah im using file.garden because i can't trust myself to hold my supporter status for longer than 3 months and i really don't want link rot on my files
personally i think a lot of people need to get in the habit of compressing their images lol i use file garden just for stuff neocities wont support on the free tier
I run a more complicated website with more custom code at more personal expense to me than donations would ever make up and even still, 5 usd per month is affordable, and I am poor.
1GB is plenty for just hosting images. i'd like to think people aren't just uploading 10MB images on a daily basis to make image hosting separate from neocities necessary

@brachy after support ends you don't lose the files (I pay for support whenever I want to make new subdomains, you don't lose access to them either)
that or sometimes even imgur, i don't know why there's a need to use a dedicated image-hosting site to then reuse it for a website/subdomain.

This drives me nuts. Compulsive hotlinking is a blight on so many sites.
