Nice write up! This makes me wonder, what the rarest herp you have herped, and what's the most dangerous one?

@dmansweb Rarest herp is probably a New Jersey pine snake, the very bottom picture I believe. But certain species (like hognoses or even ratsnakes) can be contextually very difficult to find. It's all about the weather and luck, even within the correct habitat. And the only venomous species I've herped has been timber rattlesnakes. My friend came very close to stepping on one in Virginia, so probably that!

Really cool! The timber rattlesnake looks very pretty. Im no herper but I am a hiker and occasionally I see small lizards or frogs along the way. Only spotted a snake once while hiking in korea. It was a tiny one but it still creeped me out.
