Sorry for inactivity, I'm currently taking a social media/internet break and am just doing a mass cleaning up of everything both physically and digitally

Moved to Firefox fINALLY, and did a much needed factory reset for my computer, since I got this thing 9 years ago and I can only clean and archive so much when doing it manually

Still stuck with Win10 though, Linux continues lacking a lot of easy access to stuff I consider basic I tried changing but having how to search how to do anything every 5 minutes is exhausting

Also currently teaching how myself how to theme my Win10 There is so little documentation for how to do that, it's making me want to consider writing a guide, but at the same time I only started doing this like 2-3 days ago so I'll give it sometime

Don't let the linux l33ts get to you. I used various distros for over ten years, and right now i'm back on windows, enjoying life, and still able to run a cli with WSL. Anything that runs on linux can run on windows with less steps than doing the inverse.

Yeahh ;w; I really do want to learn more, but like bro if half of the settings and features I can't function without either no do not work nor straight up exist, maybe it's not for a control freak like me for now fdhjgbdfg

I do hear the distros are getting updated constantly and I'm sure that a few years from now, it will become more accessible :) Jumping cold turkey even into the "newbie-friendly" stuff, is still too frustrating 😭 So rn I'm sticking to Win10 and blocking/deleting as much Microslop , AI bullshit, ads and bloatware gfjkdn

Krita sucks, SAI is goated. Ibis is sai but on android. If you want to jump into linux without giving up windows: install Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) on win10 or 11, run termux on an android phone, and just learn the bash cli. learn tools like nmap, wget, how to move around the filesystem with cd, mkdir, rm, etc. past that, using linux comes down to need over choice. all that runs in windows command prompt.

I'm on win 11 pretending to be win 10 on a gpd mini and I don't have much problems with microsoft getting in my way. might just be my os being nice to me. worst for me is edge, with its autocomplete on search, but that's still better than chromium or firefox these days. there are no more good web browsers. Not a fan of web search in start but meh.

Just thought I would share some of my recent experience here; I've used Windows and macOS extensively and recently switched to Linux and it has been great. We are way past the point where Linux is accessible now. If you have ever edited a config file or typed "%AppData% into a search bar, you are qualified to use Linux. Especially as an indiewebber! You can always try it, it's free after all :)
