heyyy, wanted to reply to you here about the book so you can actually see it lol. the anthology i'm reading is called "Mouths of Rain: An Anthology of Black Lesbian Thought". If you're u.s. based and have a library card you can loan a digital copy of it (i think) through an app called "Libby"!!

Baldwin is one of my favorite authors, and I adore The Fire Next Time! There's a Baldwin collection right now on the Criterion Channel that collects some movies starring/about him, so perhaps you could take a look at that and then watch them in other places (if you get my meaning) if you don't have Criterion! Always wonderful to hear him speak -- so eloquent and cogent.

havens, that sounds wonderful! i have a cheap mubi subscription and they have his "meeting the man: james baldwin in paris" which i'd like to watch sometime soon. i'd heard of some of the films included in the criterion collection, but not others — i'll check them all out as soon as i can! anything to hear more from him.
