No, they asked the bartender to turn this fruity, neon-green house cocktail into a shot.

I just made a meal with coconut curry and corn chips and cheddar with some secret non-yellow things, but then I mindlessly inhaled it before I could take a picture! Will try again.

Man my last year's potluck entry was the most yellow dish in my usual repertoire, should've saved it for this year!! Need to have a big think for this one.

If I join this year, my parents should thank you for making me make food at least once every year 😂

I'm genuinely scarred from certain moments in both Game of Thrones and Walking dead, I had to stop watching both and still think about them occasionally. Like I know life is cruel etc etc but why does your prime time entertainment tv show have to be so horrible!

All I want is to laugh and have fun literally all the time, is that really too much to ask?

Project Hail Mary - the book - was pretty 'mid' too. I just saw the movie the other night. It was okay. And I agree, at 60 years old, movie runtimes are a challenge on the bladder. And I'm going to have to face The Odyssey this Friday!

The theater is the only place where I'm willing to watch a three-hour movie. At home, I'm too distracted by all of the better things there are to do, like watching entire seasons of TV shows for the same amount of time

@Mark In my opinion, if you put together a huge resource page compiling notes for each chapter of the The Odyssey, you don't HAVE to face a movie adaptation, you've earned a pass!

I struggle so hard to watch movies anymore, to the point that I seem to gravitate to anything 90 minutes or less because of my crud attention span, eek. I think my last one was Miss Hokusai, which I did enjoy a good bit!

i've heard that movies are longer and more epic because it's the only way to get people into the theatre any more -- theatres must sell an upscale experience ("event") to compete against streaming and the inertia people have on their couches. hence the huge reclining seats, long dramatic movies or over-the-top action/cgi blockbusters, etc. the mid-budget comedy is truly dead, i miss the days of 75m fluffy romcoms.

I like this. The Train guy admits he's lying, so I gotta take Dasha's side in this drama

Dunno, maybe the poor guy doesn't know how to explain that his long-term girlfriend straight-up ghosted him one day and it's easier to just say she died. Who can say who's right?

Have you tried diet mountain dew? Lana del Rey has a song with that title and I can confirm it really hits (the dew, and the song to a lesser degree) at around 1pm during busy season when you're doing tax returns for 12 hours a day. I haven't tried it outside of that so cannot vouch.

When I was in college studying Comp Sci, I used to say that Mountain Dew made me a better programmer. I drank a lot of Mountain Dew. Then I dropped out of college.

To actually answer your question: I have tried it, but if I'm resorting to drinking diet Dew I might as well not drink any Dew at all.
The dishes are starting to come in!
"Hey Skep, you have like a full year to plan this, you think you might want to spend some of that time learning CSS grid?" "Nah I'll wing it a week and a half into the event"
Grids are weird and scary. The foods look yummy though, and on theme! Would it be wrong to make banana bread now that there's already banana bars? o.o💦
dude css grids ROCK i use them like all the time. i also recommend learning css flex. grid protip: if you have a grid container of a fixed height (e.g. 100vh or sometimes 100%) and you want its child element to not interfere with the layout should it have overflow, apply the following to the child element: {height:0;min-height:100%;overflow:auto}. this makes the child not contribute to the layout of the parent and si
mply makes it take up the remaining space. if the child is larger than the remaining space, it will simply scroll. i need to make a blog post about this because this one simple trick saved my ass so many times
@Twig Every potluck known to man includes at least three pasta salads, so based off of that logic I wouldn't worry about it. Make what you want!
@skep Yay, okay! @brachypelmide I like using flex sometimes! I just tend to forget how it works whenever I make new layouts, but it is easier to understand to me than grids ^^'
