right now i’m watching BREAKING BAD for a class, and i think what makes THE GOOD PLACE my favorite show is the fact that in a tv landscape now saturated with examples of the worst a person can be, it encourages us to always strive for our best selves.

our society’s pervasive hatred of children is also why we see so many instances of adults commandeering children’s spaces (bronies, disney adults, pokémon scalpers, etcetera) and forcibly remolding these spaces to be For Them because they think they Deserve It More

and of course our obsession with nostalgia plays a role in this too. these companies are so obsessed with wallowing in their glory days like a pig rolling in its own excrement that they refuse to make room for new generations of creators OR consumers. and they want you to wallow with them
