I've got parts 1 through 3.5 out of (???) written up. I'll have some visuals to go with them later.

I spotted a typo on page 1 "I will like to other guides and explanations as well."

I recommend swapping in a blank SSD when installing Linux, so the Windows setup is kept as it is and can be swapped back if needed.

Thanks! Let me know if you catch any others. I'll be making a proofreading pass once I get the content out of my head. If you want to organize those notes, feel free to email me at the address on my home page :)

I'm certain the navigation between pages is busted but I'm hitting a wall. I'll fix it tomorrow.

Hai! Hai! I picked your site to demonstrate what an indie web site can look like for an artist friend. Yours is very cute and incredibly well-done

affinity testing was a success and I added the fruits of that effort to the blog! Also created the first page of the linux guide, a resources index page, and added a to-do lsit to the homepage to remind me where I left off.

I'm going to be testing using Affinity by canva on a handful of Linux distros. A close friend of mine wants to try Linux but this software is something they're relying on. I found some guidance on GitHub so I'll see how Debian, Kubuntu and Fedora all handle it!

it involves running a windows program through WINE, which can be a bit involved for new users. They recommend using Lutris, a WINE frontend typically used for video games, since it's comparatively easy to set up. I think they'll handle the transition fine otherwise.

I may also write up an Intro to Linux with some basic explanations of stuff, links to resources, and all that. One specific friend will be the impetus for it, but it may help others too!

If WINE/Lutris doesn't work, I also heard WinBoat might work too

Howdy! I should hopefully be getting official word on my timeline for moving in the next couole days. I anticipate moving in the latter half of January, and expect that my site will go on the backburner for a couple weeks. Here's hoping the right place is opened up, things can get moved smoothly, and I can settle into a new home to start the year.

welp. I'm having stomach bug symptoms on the twilight of NYE. Probably staying in and recovering from whatever this is. Might do some stuff with the site if I'm homebound but upright.
