Snorri tries to reconcile his ancestor's paganism with his own Christianity: https://othala.goeshard.org/library/edda/prose/prologue/in-the-beginning | A common thing with Snorri is that he wants to unify threads that don't necessarily line up which makes him very unreliable at times. Still interesting.
