i admire your positive attitude and definitely agree with the "measureable feedback" point in regards to depression; i used the phq-9 over the years to roughly gauge how i was doing and to try to improve. btw, that professor does sound truly awful and i'm sorry you have to put up with that🫂

Thanks for the thorough reply! I'm sure people sell their hair here, it's just not something you hear about. Buyers want virgin hair of a certain texture and quality, so most extentions for sale here seem to be Asian hair. I had extensions for a brief period and we go to the beauty supply store or shop online for the wefts. I've never heard of a salon selling or processing hair other than cutting it for you to donate

on your own. People who donate theirs send it to places like Locks of Love, who make wigs for sick children. That's the appeal of donating it, that it's supposedly going to a sick woman or child. But I agree with you, at least with selling it you know there's someone who will buy it and love it!

when I was a kid the "We Buy Hair" ads on the walls and streetlighs were so omnipresent that I thought selling hair was just something long-haired people do quite often

Wow! Did you grow your hair with the intent to sell it? Is selling hair normal there? (It's not typical in the USA, we typically donate it but from my understanding, a lot of donated hair is trashed or not used for intended purposes.) I bet your head feels so lightweight!
