this has to be a coordinated effort because there are far worse hollywood films that are swept under the rug. makes me wanna actually watch LSP to see how "terrible" it is.

My thought process looking into it just now: "Oooh yuri?" "Oh it's Australian?" "Oh the art style *is* kinda eh, in a western adult animation Rick and Morty-ish kinda way"

I'm sure that the fact that it always seems to be queer art getting "EWWW LOOK HOW CRINGE" hatedoms is just a coincidence and nothing to look further into.

totes agree on that, and the insistance people have saying it has terf undertones when the creators debunked that a while back (AFAIK, correct me if im wrong) is concerning? i think its meant to be unserious as a media. considering the antagonists i dont think it even takes itself seriously LOL

@sinproexe i originally thought it was not-so-subtle terfganda because the labrys was mistakenly associated with terfs and the protags kill a(n albeit antagonistic) trans woman, but the deuteragonist is literally nonbinary and apparently one of the protags' moms is trans

its something abt uniting every single fandom ever to hate on this movie and saying "just this once" willing to team up with the corny fandoms to hate on this one (it's not even the first time that this happened)

Idk anything about the movie but this kind of reminds me of the way people were making fun of high guardian spice a couple years back. Like yeah maybe not the best show ever but a lot of people only hated it because it was queer and made by women

its mid af in a way where if it came out a decade prior it probably wouldnt have so many people talking about it
