I can +2 Void linux. Its a bit more manual and hands on, like an Arch, But is very stable and well tested. They just orphaned over 100 packages that had AI involved. They are also independent and not based on anything. I have had only good experiences with Void.

The other no-system-d Anti-Ai distro that comes to mind is obviously Gentoo.

@hhroses mRNA doesnt modify our genes. In older vaccines, they use dead or weakened viruses so that the immune system has to learn how to deal with them on their own. The immune system does so by making proteins that can kill the virus. Cells are instructed to make proteins via Messenger RNA (mRNA). All mRNA vaccines do is cutting out the middleman.

Pretty good aerynOS: still in Alpha technically, but has made a lot of progress in the last year and has a small but happy userbase so far

secureblue: https://secureblue.dev/ Really recent distro with a focus on security. It's immutable though, so probably not recommended given that it hasnt proven itself yet. Chimera Linux: https://chimera-linux.org/ on a technical level, really damn weird distro that mixes features from Android and BSD. Might take some time to get used to. Doesn't have a lot of apps in its repository, but supports flatpaks

Gentoo: https://www.gentoo.org/ really damn good distro that can be superbly optimized, but man does it require a lot of maintenance and fiddling around. Every app needs to be compiled to use it. Few people have the time for it. elementaryOS: https://elementary.io/ has their own vintage-looking desktop UI, but has a major focus on accessability and is overall pretty decent. GNOME apps are better than its default apps

Forgot to link Aeryn: https://aerynos.com/ .That's all the ones I know so far, I think elementary and/or postmarket may be the best options for general use but i've never personally used any of them yet, so I am not entirely certain. Hope this helps

After the systemd thing i cant say im surprised. It's getting harder to exist without throwing my computers out the window and moving to a technophobic commune.

Everyone keeps saying the AI bubble is bursting, but there's gonna be an ass tonne of vibe coded software that needs to be rebuilt from nothing once it does.

Also i cant say im particularly confident in any of these OSes ability to completely ban AI code. All it takes is one dev who looks the other way to completely undermine it all. To say nothing of a change in leadership or project longevity.

Sure you can just give up too if you'd like, but you don't strike me as the type to do so. As for systemd, I know Chimera Linux doesnt support it at all given its freaky feature set, and postmarket, Gentoo and elementary can ship with alternatives out of the box

As for not being able to guarantee AI-free code; that's not the point. It's virtue signaling. We're meant to signal virtue: that is how we differentiate between virtue and vice. If you want a distro that condones AI use via neutrality, you've got plenty to choose from. These are the distros that explicitly detest AI, and are more likely to turn off AI slopcoders too
