I've had a rough past few weeks. It's nothing compared to what some other people have to suffer through on a daily basis, but a lot has been on my mind. This blogpost is about generative AI and open-source software, and most importantly: HOPE.
uni started. dorm has had troubles with EDUROAM wifi the whole week. i can connect to it on the campus literally on the same street, but the eduroam in the dorm for some reason doesnt like my laptop. last year i could still connect via linux mint, but since ive moved to cachyos i cant anymore

looking online doesnt help either cuz there's a million bajillion people having issues with eduroam. most common complaint is eduroam using deprecated standards or only being usable via deprecated drivers, which would make using eduroam really unsafe. ive still got a few things i can try, but otherwise ill have to dual-boot with Linux Mint just to access my dorm wifi which would suck balls

my uni used eduroam too. i was able to connect to it on linux by changing some connection settings (something to do with PEAP, i know kde and cinnamon have this option) and setting my username to [student id]@[uni email].ie. idk your exact situation though, just thought this might help

Wigmere evolved into Alwig! This fakemon may use its fake eyes to fool others, but it's not weak either! While the pincers of the male Alwig are made to grab enemies, the female Alwig's pincers straight up cut targets in half! Be careful around it!

tried experimenting a bit with Void Linux, managed to screw it up multiple times with no success yet. I have the uncommon gift of making everything fail whenever I install things following the official instructions

Alright, finally got it set up with GNOME in a virtual machine. That said, I forgot how slow virtual machines tended to be, oof.

Good luck with it! Voids a little finnicky to set up but i find it easier / more stable then arch. Also, I will warn that Gnomes version on Void is a bit outdated because newer Gnome versions sadly rely on SystemD.

just completed SuperTux, awesome game. Also just played through the entire Industrial Island community levels of the SuperTux, it expands the game's gimmicks well and goes unreasonably hard. Will probably have to add both to the web directory

mainly struggling with applying aes256 correctly. even though i passed a full course on cryptography stuff just a few months ago, the openssl implementation is giving me headaches.

The little Revavac evolves... into Ghorek! Now that's a proper Demon fakemon! They extend their limited corporeal corpse with ghostly energy. While its appearance is threatening, it really just wants to find a good place to sleep forevermore.
Also updated the office suites page a bit. Bumped up Calligra to "Great" tier since it is still being developed after all, bumped down Cryptpad to "Good" tier due to evidence of using AI for code reviews.
