The name of a thing is often reflective of the spirit that animates it, although, this is often more readily apparent with personal names rather than collective ones. I strongly agree that many of those organizations are akin to giant idols. They lack power because they are made with human hands, yet people still insist on worshipping them. In their pride, they fall.

@daniel One of the most stubborn misconceptions of the world I had was the belief that feeling "whole" was the norm, and if you felt anything less than that, there was something deeply wrong. I'm trying to remind myself that almost no one, maybe even no one at all, feels 100% secure in everything that they do, all the time.
