That is such a great idea! I will gather my courage to maybe one day venture in your site's backroom despite my unease.......

everyone makes a "backrooms" version of their index that way they can navigate back without backing, that way too you can make some strange alterations to the site to fit a little better

oh my gosh this could be such a fun little neocities project! and yall could add your own backrooms too if you wanted lol to branch off of ur landing page

so yea either give me the say so to use ur 404 or link me ur custom landing page and i'll add you when i get around to it and let u know if/when i do!
