As an autistic person as well, interacting online seems harder than in real life. Over time, I have gotten more knowledge about irl social interactions (because I have to), which isn't the case online. I can't read someone's body language when they're not in front of me.
Understanding I'm autistic made it easier for me to interact with people because knowing I'm autistic helped me realize what was difficult for me in social interactions and work around it, while before I just thought I sucked at people. It took some time, but now I slowly get more confident
@the-selkies-cove Yes exactly!! Irl interactions are so much easier for me because I can rely on things like body language and tone. Even though i'm not the best at understanding social cues, irl interactions almost force me to practice learning them. Online it's more a guessing game for me, and that makes me uncomfy sometimes. I want to practice online interactions too though!
