I was on letterboxd years ago too. Not the worst social media “thing” I’ve been on but still ran into all the same caveats you did. Keeping a film diary on a personal website is far cooler anyway ;)

Thanks so much! Yes WB was one of the first companies that tried to create a top down fandom community. I definitely see the resemblance with sites like wikia. The promise of one central place where all fans contribute sounds nice, but the experience of visiting peoples self made fandom websites is so much more rewarding.
