I am currently reading Twelve Months, the latest Dresden Files book. I can understand why it was written, (and it is still well written, btw), but it is more like a series of vignettes or short stories that span the year after Peace Talks and Battleground, and plot-wise, it's not quite up to the usual standards as you would expect from a Dresden book. I don't really like the 'romance' plot with Lara, either. It's

clear that Harry isn't interested in her and she's not really interested in him. It's a bit creepy, tbh, and it would get called out if the story's main protagonist was a women being forced into something like that. It will end up being a 3 star rating for me. Given how these books have been since Skin Game, I wonder if the author wants to keep writing them because there's been a huge gap between publication of the
latest books and Peace Talks and Battleground feel like a single book that was split into two.
