i like your take on this issue - i do like most theological views that put Christ first and center :) it wasn't until Jesus that humankind could truly know God, so perhaps it is better to take the Old Testament as a foretelling of Christ, and not a "treatise" on who/what/how God is

Absolutely. And I think it changes from book to book. Chapter to chapter. Sometimes I think we read a very direct foretelling of Christ. Other times it does seem to be more a historical account of the Jewish people

@rainight. As a history of what a group of people did, perhaps whilst thinking God commanded it. But I have no issue saying that what was recorded in this story was obviously immoral and clearly contradicts the teachings of Christ

I have not really looked into the Orthodox prayer ropes but I understand its a similar concept

@discreteideas i view prayer ropes as somewhat of a middle-point between eastern meditation and western prayer beads. practically, they are very similar, but we usually only repeat the Jesus prayer (much like the kyrie eleison). prayer ropes can also have many shapes, some even coming in bracelet form

Expect a cover later, and a weekly update. Figured it was time to put this idea to paper, and what better place for first drafts than here? Stayed up too late reading Monmouth's History of the Kings of England. I did settle on an idea. Never knew that race replacement for the British people was such an ancestral fear. If you take Monmouth's word, it was Britons under King Arthur, then the Saxon-Angle invaders

Cont. then the Normans, then the Welsh and Bretons who were to him the true descendants of the Britons reclaiming the country. These would see to the British Empire until the Bretons, apparently preferring common religion to common blood, imported the Germans who were Protestant to rule the island through the House of Hanover. These dreadful details are in another draft. Not here though. Too long and far from America
