Played the second one through once when it came out. I think the first one is better too. I heard the War of the Chosen DLC makes the second better, but haven't tried it yet.

Yeah I paint the minis myself. You don't need great skills to start painting, the good thing about paints is that if you make a mistake you can always paint over :).
