Why does my site still get visitors? I assume some (a decent) portion of it is bots, but I do still get the odd email occasionally asking about links and stuff. My site has been inactive for ages now, and it just got me curious. What brings people back here?

Probably because it just has so many links. I can imagine most people aren't compulsive bookmarkers (like I), so they might have bookmarked just your site instead of a bunch of other ones. Or they think to themselves "Damn, what's that one website with [x]?" and remember they found it through your directory. I've done that a couple times myself.
