I don't have DID myself but I experience dissociation & depersonalization due to trauma, & about that time I got diagnosed I spent a lot of time researching DID & I've always hated how sensationalized yet misunderstood it was--
I actually did my final project presentation in my intro psych class about dissociative disorders & an essay in my argumentative & expository writing class about DID specifically!
I wish people would put more effort into researching & understanding rather than writing off someone's brain's attempt to cope with trauma as "cringe" & shit or just assume they're faking without even understanding or knowing the person.
