Whenever I listen to 90s / early 00s rap I just get sad thinking about how the quality of the rap scene has declined. I was always admired the story telling, world play, fashion, the way they controled the rhythm instead of just saying a bunch of lyrics over a beat. Hip-hop should be regarded as much of a respectable art form as opra, and i'm saying this as an outsider.
