That's not even a real aesthetic. And they spend $9999999 on toys/merch they never use but like the "basic" girls actually use their Stanleys and Needohs and Labubus and whatnot

I'm not saying alt people are bad just some of them are hypocrites and they think anyone buying a product that they don't like or is "basic" is overconsumption because they think niche is a personality trait. Well when you stop being so obsessed with being niche and edgy you'll realize a lot of trending things are actually cute!

I like bright colors but also warm ones and beige is warm! So I like it too. That's why you see my text color is dark brown not black, and my text background color is warm off-white not white

Exactly. Also like overconsumption isn't this inexcusable crime, we've all had times where we bought too many stuff we didn't need, it's normal. It's just be more mindful when buying. Whatever you don't use, give it away to someone who might like it or commit to using it to its fullest without wasting if it's still good.

Also, it helps to ask if you really need or want this, or if you only want it because it's trending, it's niche, you're hyperfixated (neurotypical people can be hyperfixated too it's just less severe), or as a status symbol. And tbh I view collecting as borderline if not exactly overconsumption too, even though people who whine about overconsumption insist they're different

For example, if you actually use the things in your collections it might not be overconsumption (though if you spend a lot or have way too much it is overconsumption) but a lot of toy collectors don't even play with them. Also, even then there's no reason to have so many things when a small collection will do.

Also, I believe it's possible a ton of folks who would otherwise say they despise fandoms are unfortunately just unaware of the fandoms they occupy.
