I've dabbled with so much gear and I've learned how some lets you break out of the grids and rigid patterns of sequencers, while others really lean into it. Been itching to try a SP-404mkII someday to see what a hardware workflow without being tied down to a sequencer is truly like, since a lot of other gear tends to stick within those constraints

@tabf5 I tried the SP-404 when a friends was buying the mkII and the workflow for it just didn't work for how I thought about music production at the time. Might be worth a revisit.
