I should change my recipe page to a "Cooking diary", because, let's be honest, all I'm doing is improvising bullshit seven ways to sunday. I made cornsilk pudding the other day. It tasted like grass
My conclusion from recent experiments is:
- If it's a summer food, try adding fresh lemonbalm, mint, or perilla
- Fresh basil on sandwich
- Perilla is an invasive plant in some parts of the US. I found it just in my back yard
- Corn silk tastes weird
- That cucumber salad I brought to Skep's digital potluck was extremely subpar. Try instead cucumbers, tomatoes, salt and pepper, italian seasoning, extra basil, white wine vinegar, and olive or avocado oil. NO mayonnaise
