@p7uen I've built a few Japanese model kits (Bandai's Gunpla and a Star Wars X-Wing, Kotobukiya's Frame Arms Girl and Megami Device lines, and a Gradius Vic Viper kit by a third company I don't remember the name of) and they've all been push-fit as opposed to requiring glue. Not sure if it's the standard for model kits there, or just happens to be the case for the stuff I've been most interested in. Works for me!

Model making is one of those hobbies that Ive always wanted to try but never have! I fear i would get 2/3rds done then abandon it for something else! I really do love them though!

@cartridgeconfidential If you ever decide to give it a shot, Bandai's models are a really good starting point! There's a few Gundam model kits labeled as 'entry grade' which are designed to be newbie friendly (which was how I started), but if Gundam's not your thing then they've got other stuff too like their Star Wars range or 30 Minute Missions (an original line of mecha models not adapted from pre-existing anime)

new cpu fan is installed ! i can finally work in peace again without having to worry about my pc catching on fire ! i also gave my pc a proper dust off and replaced the thermal paste on my cpu while i was at it !

Yes its not you! images, thumbnails and some website are failing to load or being very slow! although it would seem like the issue hasn't repeated on my end as of this evening.

Also i don't know whats wrong with me but when you mentioned the thermal paste that remminded me of how when i built my pc years ago i thought that since the thermal paste came in a blue colored syringe that it was some sort of candy dip or something like that as a gift for the purchase of the components xP. No i didn't go as far as to try to eat it i realized that soon enough.

good news ! the cpu header on my motherboard is fine ! i would have kicked and screamed if that was the problem. bad news: my cpu fan has indeed given up the ghost... which is weird, because that fan is like only 2.5 years old? no big deal though ! i've already ordered a replacement fan and it should be here on friday !

i do have to get some things done until friday though, so i came up with a very chaotic solution. i just took my 120mm fan from the back of my case and propped it against the heat spreader. this is a horrible idea. i know that ! but it's only a temporary solution until friday so it shouldn't be that bad, i hope ! i just shouldn't do any gaming or compile the linux kernel from scratch...
