i understand completely about being left behind. occasionally i see someone i used to go to high school with around town, being a functional human being, while i'm just... doing whatever the hell it is i do. for that reason, i actually hate august.

you say you feel off path but i wonder in what way-- like if your life was "on path," what would that look like? (just a thought /srs, even though i often use that phrase as a joke) because i m yself often find myself thinking "this is wrong" without knowing what i think is right

@niicespiice I'm mostly alluding to the "path" that everyone is told is "right." be cishet, fall in line, do high school > college > career start > marriage > house > kids etc. which is not even the path I want, but that means my path is undefined. I'm just kind of wandering right now, and I think the wandering itself feels wrong, personally and societally

I understand this feeling completely honestly... as someone whos going to college and has career plans, it still feels like its not the "right path" . its compounded by physical and mental disability and just. life. i think it gets easier as you get older, maybe. My moms 47 and she seems much happier than she did even when she was 30, and she didnt pick the "right" path either. so maybe theres hope?

i finally uploaded the fanpages. some arent finished yet. but most of it is done and i didn't wanna add to the stuff i was gonna have to transfer to linux. also please go to the fanpage directory through the website itself for the intended effect

I relate a lot to your blog post, it's crazy how listlessness and longing for change can make us think the most extreme things are a good idea. Wrestling those dangerous thoughts into submission is so exhausting, too, but I'm inspired by how deeply you think about it all. I hope you feel better soon, and that some positive change finds its way into your life that helps you forget what this chapter felt like.

as a general rule, if you can run windows 11, you can run linux mint. i use xfce, but i've heard good things about cinnamon.

weird coincidence with the timing; I am actually just now planning to test out Mint on my old tower desktop to see if my old Windows games work in WINE. after I move I am planning to move my current gaming laptop to Linux if it works and get a separate work computer, BC I need windows for work and don't want my personal files on my work computer or windows 11

my current laptop was purchased for futureproof specs, so the plan would be to keep using it for frivolities (all of which I could theoretically run on Linux / with wine) and Windows 11 Work Computer just does work programs and stuff that requires windows / office

pulled out the tower BC I want to test what things work in wine and get familiar with the OS before I switch on my main personal computer. not installing anything on my main personal computer until I have a separate work device because I need windows for work and need it functioning so can't afford to break anything w/o a backup. so we can learn mint together this summer IG :)

also being a total noob who knows nothing about Linux, if this is your main computer, I would recommend dual booting if you can manage it, just in case. from my understanding, WINE isn't necessarily calibrated to do windowsy stuff outside of games and even if you never use it, that way you're prepared if you end up needing a windows program that won't run in wine
