I can't do any major updates until I figure out how to do a Git repo. Uploading images the long way is just not sustainable and why my art archives are outdated. I have a new shrine in progress and fixed the layout for an offline one, but it isn't leaving my HD until I can automaticall sync uploads between my offline copy and the Neocities dashboard.

Posting this here because someone on Bsky gave me an "unofficial" attack - I sat out of Artfight this year and I really regret it. :( I'm just not feeling art lately. Possibly debating doing "off-season" trades for people I have rapport with, though.

If I do it, I'm probably sticking to "people I know + attacked me" with some OCs I seek out. I draw less but having a portable tablet makes art faster. (Too bad my art gallery here is outdated + not updated in half a year...........)
The Neocities DNS shutdown taught me to never use Namecheap. Guess I'll try Porkbun if I want a domain for here or Bsky.

I'm on it as a commissioner and it's very good, could use some tweaks but it's in progress. Mostly MLP people so far but if you sell merchandise or do commissions it's worth applying to.
How do you manage webmastering when working 40hr weeks. Good lord.

It went from "I can't maintain this site because of bad memories" to "I can't maintain this site because I'm constantly at work and too physically fatigued to sit at my desk". I can't even answer Discord DMs or emails timely anymore.

Been there, I usually noted down what I wanted to update and updated on the weekends (or way too late into the night). But, you shouldn't feel the obligation to update. Keep it at your own pace, y'know?

been trying to figure this out myself. 11ty makes it more accessible to an extent as i can write everything in md files and transfer over to the site when i have energy. however ive just come to accept its more a weekend thing

Man the crazy part is I don't have weekends because my schedule varies by week LOL... I try to chip at something when I'm not doing errands on days off but it feels Joever. My convention vacation in a few weeks is guaranteed to lead to new material though.

I have briefly returned for the old man zoomer's birthday. I have a long page in progress related to year of the fire horse. Otherwise I work 40hr weeks now and have a fun vacation happening next month. Don't be dumb or I'll shoot you.

I missed work today due to physical exhaustion, so I tried to set up a deployable Git repo to make uploading/deleting images easier. I couldn't understand the instructions and just stopped.

I've alluded to this before, but I'm going to get into it again. I don't think I'm going to update this site as much as I did 2-3 years ago. The elephant in the room is obvious. Years ago I had multiple friend groups and a partner to motivate me, I don't have that anymore. After I lost that I was thrust into a family-financial issue and I'm juggling trying to make offline friends and work full time.

I'm this close to giving up on the former, honestly. I have a hotel room reserved for a con in June, but I'm so fucking tired of life and various bullshit, I went back to social media. And not gonna lie, this community often irritates me so much. It discourages me to work on a site I have little physical energy for and only 3 people will see.

Having a zoomer spiel onto an unrelated status update last month and getting schizo emails convinving me to delete my site and get into crypto reminded me why I stopped checking here. (Don't tone police me, I don't care.) And I'm also tired of pretending my last relationship ended on good terms when it fucked me up. It's nobody's problem but mine, but it's another reason I avoid NC.

I'm turning off profile comments for awhile because it frustrates me and I don't like how the activity feed is diet Twitter. The guestbook and email is open but I'm slower to respond and less patient for random soapboxing. It's frusting how much I self-censor only for other people to mindlessly rant at me.
Thank you for the book recommendation! I wanted to read more books on ADHD but there's just so goddamn many from so many different years trying to prove so many different points, it was just totally overwhelming. ADHD nation looks to be what I'm looking for!

I came out of the book with a whole new conclusion about the disorder itself. The book is very sad at times and could use a new edition to discuss ADHD post-pandemic but it completely blew my mind.
