the preloading thing is sooo one of those things where you don't know you don't know. if you don't already know it exists then you can't find out what it is. coding needs SO MUCH LESS of that thanks

Yeah, as an avid Linux user I relate to this post. Although I love Linux it's sometimes too obscure... My window manager stopped automatically starting for no reason and although I fixed it partially it's still broken. Although Linux deserves to be mainstream in my opinion it still has a lot to do and it has the classic struggles of a software that began to be popular

I’ve actually been wanting to implement something like it for the art gallery section of my site, but there’s only so many photos of the IRL objects and the technology isn’t *quiiiiite* there yet to generate a 3D model from them 😔️

@satyrwoud you should really try it again, I used to mess around with the 3d android scanner apps a long time ago and they had some potential. I imagine nowadays they're way better than back then.

I have! It’s definitely in a better place than it was about a year ago, when I first looked into it, but the algorithms still have some trouble piecing it together.
