There's an interest phenomenon that happens with hyperfixations. For me it usually expresses when I am obsessed with a particular video game. I will be at work and all my mind can focus on is what I will be doing in-game when I get home. It's that feeling, but with Neocities. 5PM cannot get here any faster.

Changed some out-of-date coding conventions, added some vinyl to the collection, added some more external links, and gave the ability to scroll through pixel art with arrows rather than showing all of them at once. Also, hidden audio.

writing code that isn't slow. Javascript bloat is a real issue, so some guidelines on efficiency/not overusing javascript would be helpful to many people if included

I'm super stuck on JavaScript dates. it seems like no matter what I do it shows the date a day before the date I actually put in. I know this has something to do with time zones but I just can't figure it out lol.

maybe dark mode could have a bundle with font toggles? since they both rely on localStorage, and font toggles also are a good way to learn to target elements (which still confuses me a little sometimes)

honestly? I usually just copy and paste java cause none of it makes sense to me lol!! so the basics and learning how to understand what the different commands mean would be an extremely helpful first step

If there's a way to load sidebar items on every page without having to use includeHTML and without breaking any of the Javascript functions of said sidebar items. I've read your tutorial on making the same layout for every page, but it's not compatible with Sadgrl's layout, which I use as a base. So I've been resorting to using includeHTML for all my layout items.

Garbage collection. Although, browsers nowadays has some built-in GC, I fear that my messy code could unexpectedly leak some unintended stuff. Maybe best practices on some declarations and destructors or something.

i think the hardest part of javascript (and programming in general) is translating real-world problem solving into a complete sequence of programming steps. a tutorial focused on that gap would be really helpful, since that’s always been my main struggle. especially with javascript relying so much on its environment like the dom.

Checked out your site after I saw you commented on mine and DAMN this is cool! Everything here oozes with so much style, and the vibes kinda remind me of the new Marathon, with a little bit of Cyberpunk 2077. Killer site!!

Wow thank you so much! You've got a good eye. A large chunk of my inspiration takes from artists like Antireal (who unfortunately had her artwork stolen by Bungie while developing Marathon) and The Designer's Republic with a heavy dose of the cyberpunk aesthetic as well to unify everything. Felt like a good fit since it has such a large focus on presenting text/data and I've got a "no image" rule.

This is already observable as an option on my site but in the Void, does it make sense to have a button that leads you to the homepage AND a button that leads you to the last page you were on? Do either make sense???

Your site is so cool! The way your index is built to look exactly like a video game title screen makes it feel so welcoming. I love how in Four-Legged Spider the music slowly builds as you progress too, I was jamming by the time the tombstone dropped on my little guy!

I bought a domain because why not. While it would be nice for folks to update their links (the new URL is https://dir.emptiness.io), it's ABSOLUTELY NOT REQUIRED AT ALL as it will still end up at the same place. At the end of the day this is just because I saw an opportunity and the URL makes me giggle.

Thank you for the follow! I love how tactile so many of your pages feel. Also thank you for making me aware of the Panic Playdate, which I am now trying oh so very hard to not impulse buy and wait until it's more financially responsible to do so.

Ah, thank you very much! Yes, the Playdate... I need to actually finish a game for it. It's very fun to develop for though! It is a bit pricey though, but if you have the means, it's real cool! And it's so accessible to make things for.
