one thing about leaving social media but still having the desires and behaviors behind social media use is that no other site that you use updates fast enough. what do you mean you can't entertain me and give me dopamine hits every 2 seconds? what do you mean I actually have to entertain myself? what do you mean it's okay to be bored??? 😂

I found that empty space felt incredibly uncomfortable at first. Recognizing the grip that it has on us is an important step. Some particularly worthwhile endeavors to help fill the space are physical, slow-paced things (going for a long walk, writing in a journal, reading a book, drawing, gardening). Anything where the feedback loop takes much more time than 2 seconds :)

@win1999 - yes thank you! sometimes I forget I just need to fill the space with something else. I did take a walk today although it was hot AF so I didn't like it, but that's still better than doing stuff I don't like on social media. @skep - #dobetter I'm struggling here. it's hot outside.
