Man, I downloaded Windows 10 onto an old Dell Optiplex and... Why? (Because it was originally a “Recalbox” machine on a optiflex), because I wanted to host my website on a personal server. What do you think, please?

I don't think that's the best idea now, because we have to leave it on 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and you know electricity is expensive.

It depends, I would not host anything on Windows, too much of a pain and too full of security problems. Linux is my first choice for this. Also, it depends on how expensive your electricity is. Where I live we're the most expensive in the world (we hold the record) but I can afford to run a Core i5 24/7. What I did there was to run VMWare ESXi and create virtual hosts, one of them is Windows 11.

Also, if you want a "personal box" that won't be facing the internet, consider a Raspberry Pi, that can operate from a phone charger and do what you need to do but again, you will need to learn a few Linux basics

Strange..... I can't find your message on here but I got an email? I haven't been looking at 'sites for a while because of projects I'm doing and...... there's something I want to finally get done on my 'site.... but haven't been motivated, I hope that changes. I love this place from looking at it!

I've been restricting myself in a way because I wanted my web pages to support EVERY BROWSER IN THE WORLD...... but I eventually learned that I need to let go and..... I can't do that I'll still optimize things but I'm thinking about going crazy with what I could do.... what's a 'site without anything fun in it? I love CSS animations and the things you can do with websites compared to 10 or 20 years ago
