Sorry to say, Game Boy Abyss is taking another hiatus. I haven't been in a great mental health space the last few weeks and it's not fair to my readers to just be stringing y'all along expecting another review, and it isn't fair to the games themselves for me to force out a review every week or so. I don't expect I'll be off for to long, I just need some time to get my head in order. Thanks for reading, always :)

Y'know, with my Swordcraft review popping up since I - apparently - edited it enough for it to be on my dashboard, maybe when I don't have a review for a week, I can just bump one of the old ones? I dunno. On that note, not sure if there'll be a review next week, work has been kicking my ass and I haven't even picked Game #41 yet.

It's crazy that I get a bunch of views just from people finding my reviews on google - the fact that my reviews come up on the first or second set of google reviews in just insane anyway.

Minish Cap is actually my favourite Zelda game, although I'm not the biggest fan of the series as a whole so my tastes might be a little weird. The slow pacing of a lot of post-Ocarina of Time Zelda games doesn't really gel with me, but Minish Cap absolutely did and was a ton of fun

The second you mentioned Vicarious Visions, everything fell into place about why this game is the way it is, as I got a ton of Crash/Spyro Fusion vibes from the minigame structure and the pre-rendered graphics.

I remember finding out these existed after the GBA era, I don't know if they were ever sold in my country. Somehow, I don't think we missed out on much.

I really love writing reviews for The Game Boy Abyss, but recently I've been feeling... I dunno, discouraged? Views are down across the board, and whilst I know I shouldn't have those in mind when I write these reviews, it doesn't feel great that people aren't reading, and makes me feel that I've done something wrong, or the quality of my posts have gone down.

I think Neocities sometimes just runs in cycles. The quality of your work is still high, I am always amazed by the strange games you buckle down and finish! I don’t feel like views and engagement have a ton of rhyme or reason on here, though.

Unfortunately, a lot of users just... don't read the text on websites. As such, websites with lots of text are sometimes disregarded :/ It's a shame, really. We really love your work.

Actually one of the first GBA games I ever got, but hardly have any memories of it, fond or otherwise. I remember finding Sandy's house really hard at first and then after that level the rest is a blur I'm pretty sure I breezed through without much hassle that didn't stick in my mind

First time playing this I straight up didn't even know you could explore previous levels and that grinding was an option, also only used cyber elves for the final boss. The game was grueling as a result simply because there were major core mechanics I didn't even know were there, second only to Rockman and Forte as the Rockman game I struggled with the most, but it was absolutely a good game frustration aside.
